"The lovely little plain of Faskalie. It is a triangular piece of ground, surrounded with wood, watered by these stream, and within sight of the fall of Tummel." Taken from 'Remarks on Local Scenery and Manners in Scotland' vol.2 by John Stoddart.
The area was flooded by the North of Scotland HydroElectric Board's Tummel/Garry scheme. The Pitlochry Dam was built across the River Tummel, between 1947 and 1950, creating Loch Faskally. Faskally House still stands on the east side of the loch
