This image shows a Bank of Scotland cheque, dated from 1950. The cheque is addressed to the Bank of Scotland, High Street, Inverness, and instructs that they pay four pounds, three shillings and two pence to the North of Scotland Hydro-Electric Board from the account of J.C. Gordon. The bank was situated on Union Street from the early twentieth century until recent years, with its headquarters at High Street.
